2011 KTM 450EXC

Home

Date of purchase: 7-May-2011. So far I've added an Enduro Engineering "soft" seat, Moose brush guards, and have a SharkFin disk protector on order. I also bought a 13-tooth counter-shaft sprocket (15 is stock) to gear it down to only 90mph in 6th gear. It's a 50-States street legal model with electric starter, and I'll have a license plate in a week or so...

My first 4-stroke KTM. My other two were a mid-70's Penton 175 Jackpiner (which technically wasn't a KTM, but did have a KTM engine) and a 2007 KTM 200 XCW. Both were 2-strokes. I still favor 2-strokes; they're lighter, less complicated, easier to maintain and have way more HP, but I wanted something I could ride on the street upon occasion.

More motorcycle eye candy below, for those who care. KTM doesn't scrimp on parts — they buy the best so you don't have to spend $$$ on upgrades. I love looking at the details of this bike, it's kinda like modern art to me...

Bike: 37.5" seat height. Rider: 31" inseam. I don't see a problem...

Finally got to ride it after adjusting the suspension. Love it!
