The last one (Tough Trip Through Paradise, Comstock Editions, SBN 89174-008-2) is perhaps my favorite, partially because of it's obscurity, and partially because of how Andrew's story pulls at me. The original manuscript was found in 1948 stored in dynamite boxes on Garcia's homestead on the Clark Fork River in Northwestern Montana. Garcia wrote his tale around 1878, having lived (with his Nez Perce wife In Who Lise) during the brief era when the buffalo vanished, and the Indians were driven from their homelands. A wonderful story...
