I am an elementary school teacher living in the Northwest. Presently I teach 5th grade, but over the years I have taught all grades from 1-6. I have created some very useful links for Educators which you might want to peruse...
I have spent the last 13 years job-sharing with a couple of wonderful partners. My last partner and I worked together for over 10 years. We began working together over 20 years ago at Chester Elementary. She taught 6th grade and I taught 2nd. We both quit teaching for a few years while our children were young but both returned to the profession only to find ourselves as teammates. Job-sharing is a wonderful way to teach if you both are compatible. You must have similar philosophies, discipline beliefs and techniques, and overall attitude about education to be really successful.
In 1998/99 we both went back to full-time teaching. She now teaches 6th grade and I teach 5th grade. We both love working full-time but really miss the teamming we were so used to. I work not only as a 5th grade teacher but also work as the principal designee and the technology coordinator at my school. This keeps me busier than usual.
Here are a few shots of me in my younger years doing some of the same things I still am doing today... putting on make-up, taking care of children, combing my hair, and talking on the phone. Well, actually, my life is a little more complicated than that... now I have a family, career, friends, and hobbies which keep me extremely busy.
